Rising Artists In The Future

Updated: August 19th, 2009

As some of you may know this company is only one month old and currently has one employee (ME). Well here are some other stats about Rising Artists that are more then extraordinary for only being one month old and spending $0.00 on advertising.

Rising Artists Has:

28 Followers On Twitter (Follow Me: www.twitter.com/RisingArtists )
126 Members On FaceBook (Join Us At: www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=112497392392 )
9,000+ Plays On Last.fm (Join The Group: www.last.fm/group/Rising+Artists )
14 Subscribers On Youtube (Subscribe: www.youtube.com/user/RisingArtists )
121 Friends On Youtube
5 Group Members On The Youtube group (Join Here: http://www.youtube.com/group/RisingArtistsGroup )
8,000+ Page Views On This Website
15 Connected Artists (Wanna Get Connected? Easy!! E-Mail me at: geistsoul13@gmail.com )

And those numbers go up everyday! Each day those numbers grow exponentially!

With all that said, what are my plans for Rising Artists in the Future? How far am I going to go?

By next summer I plan to own a fully operational professional recording studio to record local bands and Rising Artists at much lower prices then competitive studios.

I plan to release a bi-annual album featuring tracks from connected artists, of which rightful royalties will be paid to those hard working artists. The idea so far is to sell a 12 track album for $8 dollars!!! Yup, and I would only walk away with 20% of the sale profit. That's $1.60 for you math guru's, it will cost me upwards to around $1.00 to produce and market the album so I walk away with less then $0.60 per sale and the artists featured in the album walk away with $0.53 per sale. I strongly disbelieve in those record companies taking 50% to 80% of the sales profit. It isn't right.

I plan on making my own website, instead of using Blogger.com as my webhost. It is great for not having any money, but as soon as I can afford it I'm making my very own website... linked to this existing blog though!

I plan on proposing a short segment to MTV featuring interviews and studio sessions with connected Rising Artists.

I plan on having a short segment on local radio stations to play connected Rising Artists.

Eventually I plan on having my very own radio station completely dedicated to this company. Either online or FM hell go big, XM or Serius!

Think this is a bit much? It never hurts to dream, and I dream of helping others make their musical dream a reality. I did not start this company to make some extra cash, I started this company becuase I love music and I love making music. The more music the world has to offer, the better the world's future looks!

New Artist!!! - Sleeping Lessons

Sleeping Lessons
http://www.myspace.com/sleepinglessonsband/
Main Genre: Pop-Rock
From: Frenwick Connecticut

Bio/Description

Culminating an eclectic mix of influences, an undeniable stage presence, as well as a hint of boyish charm, Sleeping Lessons strives to thrill and hook fans and critics alike. With roots in pop, rock, alternative, funk and hip hop music, Sleeping Lessons takes pride in their ability to fuse and create an enjoyable end product.

Beginning in the winter of 2009, the band began experimenting, trying to find new sounds, as well as stabilize a lineup. Going through numerous musical and roster changes, they believe they have found the perfect fit.Having played music together for years, members Brandon Clark(Lead Vocals, Piano), and Preston Briggs (Drums), concluded that finding a bassist and guitarist was crucial for a definitive sound. An essential way to break the mold was to add new influence and tone. Enter Andrew Seltzer (Bass) and Colin Filgate(Guitar),both mutual friends with a solid musical background in various styles of funk and hip hop, as well as an ear for production. Their addition has become ideal in accomplishing exactly what the band set out to do.

After intense practices, a few broken instruments, and a few lost voices, the band is thrilled about the new sound. "I really think we've finally found our element," states Brandon Clark, "We really just want to have as much fun as possible."

Recording a tentative EP with 6 new songs, the band is very optimistic for the future. Look out for their new music coming soon, and stay posted on shows near you!

I'm Connected, What Now?

Some of you that may have joined Rising Artists International may be wondering: Great! So I got a view extra page views on myspace, and a few more subscribers on youtube, but what now?

Well, that's a good question, actually it's a great question, and I am more then prepaired to give a more then honest answer.

There are countless hours I spend outside of making new posts on this site when I find a new Artist I like. Oh yes, actually 90% of my day goes to finding more fans, more bands, more record companies (that's the big one). The other 10% is mostly sleeping. Anyway, here's what happens after I feature you on this site:

--A link to your music goes out on YouTube, Myspace, Facebook, Twitter, EIY, Last.fm, PureVolume, and SoundClick.
--In every conversation I have for the rest of the week I make sure to mention all the people that have joined Rising Artists International. (My close friends find this annoying by now) If I have contact info I make sure to give it out.
--If I know an artist looking to get recorded or I know a record Company looking for artists... In truth if an artist is looking for anything, my real work begins. Currently I'm working with 5 local artists that are trying to find a good recording studio to produce a sample CD or two. At the moment there is only one Record Company connected to Rising Artists (Steph Marziano's Run Like Hell Records) so I have referred them all to her. I am talking to one recording company based in florida at the moment, and when they join I'll be referring any local bands down there to them. As you can tell my main focus is connections. What I offer at this site is connections. Connections you can't find anywhere else. This is a chance to get your name out there and get seen, be heard! **You can NEVER find fans if you do not put yourself out there for fans to find. If you hide away all day simply hoping fame will bounce upon you, it will never come. Let me help spread the word about what you have to offer and put yourself out there. What's the worst that can happen? Your website gets another backlink!

But if your not connected to Rising Artists International it is really easy to get connected. Just ask! That's right, I accept every band/artist that asks to be featured on the site. Even though I do most of the hunting myself. Don't make me have to beg.

Anyway, if you want or need to contact me you can at: Geistsoul13@gmail.com or leave a comment to this post if it is easier.

New Artist!!! - Man On Earth

Man On Earth
http://www.manonearth.com/

Bio: (Taken from Man On Earth's MySpace page)

MAN ON EARTH describes their sound as 'Eclectic, experimental rock based music with a commercial accessibility' All Music Guide takes it a bit further - "melodic, post-Britpop sensibility with sharper-edged American guitar muscle, then tops it off with thoughtful lyrics. Surprisingly mature and far-reaching, the band is really too eclectic to simplify with easy comparisons."

MAN ON EARTH was formed in New York City by lead singer Steven Nathan shortly after recording the bands debut album in his bedroom studio. The band is rounded out by Alex Polaris (Guitar, Keyboards) Dave (Drums) & Alex Goumas (Bass).

Three years after the release of their critically acclaimed debut album, MAN ON EARTH is back with 'The Time Spent Wondering', produced by Grammy winning producer & mixer, Ken Lewis (Lenny Kravitz, Beastie Boys, Fall Out Boy, Kanye West). The album contains guest appearances as diverse as the band's music. The legendary Dr. Fink, iconic keyboardist of Prince & The Revolution as well as Stephen Pearcy, the voice of the mega-platinum arena rock band RATT, have come on board to lend their talents and support to this ambitious project.

MAN ON EARTH's strong 'do-it yourself' ethic and non-stop hard work has garnered them a large amount of recognition and success over the past 3 years. Entirely on their own, the band has had their videos played on Much Music, been spun on over 300 radio stations, featured in film & TV, booked nationwide tours, and directed their own music videos. Shortly after the release of their first album MAN ON EARTH also won the ears of Grammy winning producer Ken Lewis who began working with the band on the songs that have become 'The Time Spent Wondering'.

'The Time Spent Wondering's first single 'all we want' has already gotten a head start this fall from Alternative rock station KACV in Amarillo TX. The song instantly generated phones and within a month it became the 1 most requested song on the station. FMQB declared 'All We Want' a Best Bet pick of the week and a growing number of prominent stations across the country have begun spinning the song as well. The video for 'All We Want' was directed by the band who encouraged fans from around the world to submit videos of themselves with signs explaining their dreams and goals. The outcome was truly inspiring and the video has had a huge response online. In addition pre sales for the album through an exclusive deal with smartpunk.com saw the album debut 8 in their top 100! MAN ON EARTH was also recently named one of the top 20 most popular alternative bands in NYC by the Deli Magazine.

New Artist!!! - Zin

http://www.youtube.com/user/1zin1

Artist Name: Zin
Main Genre: Electronic
Short Bio/Description:

I came across zin on http://www.melbshuffle.com/ in the Music Production section and found a couple of his tracks where he created a beat using Fruity Loop Studios and then played the drums over top. The first couple of these tracks were pretty good but after each completed song they improved exponentially. Zin has released a multitude of tracks all avialable either on youtube or through his posts on http://www.melbshuffle.com/ . Zin has produced some of the hotest electronic songs I've heard from an indie producer yet. I as a DJ have actually used his song "Jet Set Funk" during one of my local gigs here on the East Coast. Zin is also an expert in the art of dance that is the Melbourne Shuffle.

The Benefits of Joining Rising Artists on Last.fm

The following article will explain how to sign up for last.fm as an artist, the benefits of signing up with last.fm, how to become a connected artist to Rising Artists International, and the benefits of joining the Rising Artists Group on last.fm.
----------
--Why Should I Join last.fm as an artist?
Firstly some of you may be asking what is last.fm? Well, last.fm is a "global music service that avialable in 12 different languages"(last.fm/about), whose main goal is to make music available to anyone at any time the way they want their music, FREE. That's right, the music you can listen to and many times even download is all FREE. Of course you can subscribe monthly for extra features but you can find all that out on your own.
--That's cool! But What does that have to do with me and my music?
Well not only can you sign up as just a regular member, but you can sign up as an Artist! (And even a Record Label)
--Woopdee Fricken Do, what does that do for me?

Joining last.fm as an artist gives you the oppertunity to spread your music literally to the world. FOR FREE! Not to mention, you get royalties for letting last.fm use your songs! Yea royalties. Even if your just a garage producer of some techno tracks you make for fun, you can get paid for it, by simply making a few clicks of the mouse.

By joining last.fm as an artist your songs will reach farther then they ever can at a local gig or playing at a bar 10 miles from your house. The world opens up to you and your music! And that is what Rising Artists International is going to do for your music. If you want to make a difference and you want to be heard. Rising Artists International is the place to be!

----------
How To Sign Up for last.fm

The above is located at the bottom of last.fm's main page (http://www.last.fm/). Click the one that applies to you. For the purpose of this guide I clicked "Artist". After you click "Artist", you will be confronted by this image:

Type in your artist name and then "Go". If someone else uses your same name then you can claim the rights to it by sending last.fm an E-Mail or simply change your name a little bit just for the website. If it doesn't exist on their website yet then click on the "Claim This Artist" link. You will now see this page:
From here on out you just need to follow the instructions!
Now this is where it gets a little tricky!
At the royalties page the best option for an independent artist with no previous label is to just click "I want to collect Radio and On-Demand royalties for all my songs." This basically means every time someone listens to your song on last.fm's radio or one of your songs is played on your profile page (or someone else's), you get paid!
The last step is to agree to the terms and conditions. I encourage you to read them so you know what your getting yourself into, besides one of the best decissions of your life.
Check it out for yourself at http://www.last.fm/!
----------
I'm signed up! How do I get connected to Rising Artists International?
It's super easy! Follow this link: http://www.last.fm/group/Rising+Artists/. Look at the top of the page to find the "Join" button and that's it. Once you join be sure to send me a message on last.fm or just send me an E-Mail at geistsoul13@gmail.com and ask to become a connected artist. End!
----------
Why should I join Rising Artists on last.fm and why should I become a connected artist?
Again, the answer is simple! Signing up for the group as a regular member gives you an oppertunity to find the latest and newest of music showing up world wide! Rising Artists has an Official Online Radio (http://www.last.fm/listen/group/Rising%2520Artists/ ), this the the place where you'll be introduced to Rising Artists Internationals new artists and it's similar artists. You may just find your new favorite track!
Now if you're an artist becoming connected will make your global music experience even greater! Upon becoming a connected artist your tracks featured on last.fm will begin playing on our online radio automatically for millions to hear world wide. Your tracks will also be playing along side big name artists in your genre so others tuning in make connections between them and you! No other online music site does this for new and upcoming artists! None!
I hope this has helped you in your quest to make a name for yourself! Don't forget to send an invite to everyone you know about Rising Artists International. Join the group and support the scene!
